A woman contemplating breaking free from her limiting beliefs

The Biggest obstacle in your growth: Self limiting Beliefs

Your limiting beliefs are one of the crucial things that stop you from progressing.

Limiting beliefs hinder your progress not only in the spiritual realm but also in your career/business, relationships, and health.

Positive affirmations, closed-door meditations, or any rituals practiced will just give you momentary satisfaction but won’t allow you to grow beyond the limitations and witness a miracle in your life.

The reason is simple: They are effective only for your thinking mind but not for releasing your core beliefs that create fear within you and hold you back from taking the next big step.

You will notice that you are able to take bigger actions in your life effortlessly once you have cracked the secret to transcending these self-limiting beliefs.

This is why it is possible:

It’s just that until now you have been looking at the world with the perceptions created by these beliefs.

Your restricted perceptions keep you distant from being limitless and bind you in a comfort zone. Your thoughts will be based within these limits, thereby blinding you to new possibilities and trapping you in old mind tendencies and unconscious patterns.

Before we jump into how to release the core beliefs, let's first understand “How are the core beliefs holding you back?”

The sneaky game of beliefs

According to psychologist Robert M. Williams, "Beliefs are like filters on a camera; what the camera sees is a function of the filters through which it is viewing its subject."

To put it another way, how you see the world is a function of your beliefs and has a significant impact on your personality.

If a person believes that everyone is wicked by nature, then even when others are pleasant to him, he feels they are doing it with an ulterior motive.

He then keeps everyone at a distance and never develops trustworthy relationships. Whenever he feels he isn’t being treated properly, he sees it as proof that his beliefs about people being terrible are correct.

So,

How do you get rid of your self-imposed limitations?

The solution is the Belief to Freedom Approach. Let’s take a step-by-step look at how to overcome self-limiting beliefs.

This approach helped Dr. Ria (Due to privacy, the name has been altered) grow, not only spiritually. She could see the results in her relationships and also witness growth in her business.

Pre-Programmed Humans

The Belief to freedom Approach

Recently, I used the "Belief to Freedom Approach" with one of my clients, who happens to be a doctor. She had been on a spiritual quest since she was a child. As she grew older, the quest to understand beyond the body and mind grew stronger.

For years, she has been doing yoga and following some ancient Indian rituals in order to discover answers to her questions. She has taken part in a number of retreats and meditations.

Though she had gotten glimpses of the beyond over time, her desire for awakening was still unfulfilled. In everyday life, she was dominated by unconscious mind patterns that hindered her from achieving freedom.

Despite all of these practices and reading books, she once stated that she feels her spiritual journey has stayed stuck. She couldn't figure out what caused her to fall into these unconscious mind patterns while at work.

She was able to see her behavioural and unconscious patterns that kept her stuck in the same vicious cycle after working through Belief to Freedom.

She came up with this after experimenting with the Belief to Freedom approach.

  • My spiritual journey has progressed by 70%.
  • My relationship with my sister, which had become formalised with less authentic sharing, has been rekindled with the same love that she felt when they were children. Article on How to develop authentic relationships.
  • I haven't had any stress or fatigue at work because I am able to complete all of my tasks with ease, and my efficiency has increased by at least threefold.

The best part?

You can break your self limiting beliefs and experience being limitless.

The 3-Steps in “Belief to Freedom” to break your self limiting beliefs

Let's start with the basics: what is the "Belief to Freedom" approach? And why has it proven to be the most effective and practical method for overcoming self-limiting beliefs.

To transcend your self-limiting beliefs, the "Belief to Freedom Approach" was designed using psycho-spiritual principles.

Let's take a closer look at how this approach works.

3 easy steps for the Belief to Freedom Approach are as follows:

Step#1: Identifying the behavioural patterns

Since childhood, you have gathered a variety of behavioral patterns. Some of them have been taught to you by your parents or at school to behave in a certain way when a certain scenario arises.

For example, when a guest arrives at the house, you must present yourselves in the best possible light. Pretend to be a good kid by only discussing positive experiences in your life.

Some of your behaviors have developed as a result of your life experiences.

Fear-based behaviours limit your life because you believe that once you have encountered a terrifying incident in your lives, you will naturally believe that it is dangerous to your life and that you must protect yourself from it.

(This is the process by which psychological fears arise)

You begin to program yourself for how to act in the difficult situations of life. Now you start to operate based on pre-programmed responses, even when you feel a little bit of threat, which prevents you from fully immersing yourself in the present moment and making the most effective decision.

Your mind interprets the scenario based on your memory rather than what has been provided to you, and as a result, you are unable to comprehend the situation properly. And therefore, you take actions that will lead to the same outcomes.

The action to be taken in step one is:

Observe your behavioural patterns.

Now, I won't leave you with just a statement. I want you to make a list of instances that make you extremely uncomfortable or angry.

Here are few examples so that you can relate to,

  1. When confronted with a challenging situation, a person's default behaviour may be to escape rather than confront it.
  2. While the other person has a tendency to confront it but then create a scene and possibly explode in anger because they are unable to handle it properly.
  3. Someone may find it easier to convince the other using logical reasons, even if the circumstance is emotional, such as in a relationship, instead of showering love or empathy, you may find yourself arguing with logic.

You may have developed distinct behaviours for several aspects of your life. For example, you could employ an escape mechanism in relationships and a convincing mechanism at work.

A person who follows the patterns is blind to the reality of the situation.

Here is an interesting observation for you:

I've observed how keeping a daily journal has helped my clients find their unconscious behavioural patterns in the most efficient way possible.

Step #2: Discovering the Limiting Beliefs

Behaviour patterns are not a reaction to external situations but rather to beliefs that are fed to your unconscious mind.

The following is a brief description of how your behavioural mechanisms work:

External situations trigger the belief that you have internally, in reaction to the belief your behavioural pattern is operated to keep you safe.

These are the core beliefs that you have formed as children or in adolescence, when your mind is like a blank slate. because of some unexpected shocks from the environment or unforeseen events.

So the action for you to take in Step 2 is:

After you've written down your behavioural pattern over time, determine the underlying belief that is driving your unconscious behavioural pattern. Make a list of the thoughts that spring to mind when various beliefs are brought up.

Here is an interesting observation for you:

It might seem difficult for you to be aware of unconscious tendencies most of the time. You might seek the assistance of your friends or partner up with someone. It's easy for them, as they are detached from your personality.

Here is the sneak peek to the behavioural patterns in extreme situations

Napoleon was a French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution and led several successful campaigns throughout the Revolutionary Wars. Napoleon, perhaps the most feared general and ruthless tyrant, had a peculiar fear of cats.

Napoleon had experienced a terrifying event when a cat jumped on him when he was around six months old, causing him to freeze in fear.

Napoleon's fear of cats lasted as he grew older. He had simply forgotten about it. His unconscious mind was firmly impressed by the trauma of cats.

In a battle, the opposing side learned of their enemy's phobia. So, on that fateful day, they brought 70 cats with him and kept them right in front of his army.

Napoleon's mind froze when he saw the cats. He departed the battlefield, and the battle was lost.

This is an example of when a young mind gets imprinted with something profound or ichted with something so profound that it influences your behaviour in your entire life.

?In your daily life, you follow certain behavioural patterns that aren't as apparent as Napoleon's, but everyone has acquired some core beliefs.

You remain limited as a result of your unconscious beliefs. You crave to progress in life and do great things, yet your beliefs play a role in effectively limiting you.

Step 3: Cleansing of Limiting Beliefs

You've already overcome 70% of your self-limiting beliefs if you've identified your own unconscious behavioral pattern through journaling and done enough introspection to discover your core limiting belief.

Identifying your core limiting beliefs and how they've contributed to the vicious cycle that keeps you trapped as a limited being will allow you to take steps to cleanse those beliefs.

No one wants to get caught in a vicious cycle; it's only a matter of being unaware of the source of the cycle.

Because of your beliefs, you have been enslaved to the idea of what is and is not possible for you. Once these beliefs are recognized and discarded, a new powerful method of dealing with things emerges, as does a completely new outlook on daily life.

It allows you to be present in the moment, recognise what is truly needed, and take the most effective action at the time.

For example, if someone needs empathy right now, you won't be stuck with logic; instead, you'll empathise with them and build a long-term relationship with them.

If a big action has to be taken for growth, you would be able to keep all your fears aside and take the big leap that you have been waiting to take for a long time.

A final thought:

Now I believe you understand how to deal with your core limiting beliefs. Start being limitless by implementing the "Belief to Freedom" approach in your life.

If you can start by identifying your unconscious behavioural patterns that stop you from being present in the moment, you'll be on your way.

If within you, there is determination and a need to bring fulfillment and growth to your life, Begin by breaking the limitations that make you feel like, no matter how hard you try, you're still the same person with no progress.
